Product Overview:

\n\n

Supports electrical current transfer within the Bandfile motor assembly. The Dynabrade 40750 Bandfile Carbon Brush Set provides the sliding electrical contact between the stationary brush holder circuit and the rotating armature commutator. Its construction allows electrical current to reach the rotating motor assembly while accommodating continuous movement and normal contact wear during operation. The brush set is an integral part of the motor's electrical circuit and supports the rotational output required to drive the abrasive belt.

\n\n

Electrical Current Transfer:

\n\n

The carbon brushes establish a conductive path between the fixed electrical circuit and the rotating commutator. As the armature turns, the brushes maintain contact with the commutator surface, allowing current to transfer continuously during operation. Proper electrical contact helps the motor maintain consistent electromagnetic operation and produce the rotational output required by the Bandfile drive system.

\n\n

Brush-to-Commutator Interface:

\n\n

The brush-to-commutator interface is a sliding electrical connection that operates continuously while the motor is running. Carbon brush material gradually wears as it remains in contact with the rotating commutator. Proper brush seating and contact pressure help maintain consistent current transfer while limiting interruptions in the motor circuit. Excessive wear, chipping, contamination, or surface damage can reduce the quality of electrical contact.

\n\n

Replacement Guidelines:

\n\n

Replace the Bandfile Carbon Brush Set if the carbon brushes are excessively worn, chipped, cracked, burned, damaged, or no longer maintain proper contact with the motor commutator. The SKU 40750 should be verified before replacement to ensure the correct carbon brush set is selected. Replace the set if deterioration affects electrical contact, motor performance, power output, sparking, or normal bandfile operation.

\n\n

Common Failure Symptoms:

\n\n\n\n

Equipment Compatibility:

\n\n

Verify that part number 40750 matches the required replacement component and consult the applicable Dynabrade parts documentation for the Bandfile model before purchase. Confirming the equipment model and original component identification helps ensure the brush set matches the motor's brush holder and commutator configuration.
