The Echo P021010652 Chain Brake Assembly is a safety mechanism which automatically crunches an internal breaking pin into the chainsaw chain in the event of a kick back or other dangerous situation. An essential component for safe operation of Echo chainsaws. The Echo is usually actuated by a centrifugal force or a manual inertia actuated mechanism. The mechanism engages when the chain saw chain does encounter resistance or kick back and press in on the chain brake stopping the movement of the chain.
