The Exmark 116-9754 Side-Discharge Chute Assembly is used to deflect the grass clippings to the side of the mower deck. It is mounted on the side of the mower and provides a channel through which the cut grass is ejected. This is used in achieving an even distribution of the clippings and avoids the formation of clumps and provides a clean cut. Disadvantages include clogging of the grass, slowness in spreading the grass and difficulty in mowing. It is suitable for large lawns and large open spaces so that it can mow large areas at one time without having to collect the grass.
