The Makita 126006-1 Ignition Coil Assembly is a must for Makita power tools with internal combustion engines, including chainsaws and brush cutters. In most modern engines it also has a key function, of providing high voltage which produces the electrical spark that ignites the fuel and air mixture in the cylinder. The tool's ignition system supplies low voltage electrical current to the ignition coil. Then it turns this low voltage current into a high voltage spark. This high voltage spark leaves the spark plug then ignites the fuel air mixture, and starts combustion. The power to drive a cutting or trimming mechanism comes from the combustion process.
