The MTD 687-06029 Lawn Mower Hinged Mulch Plug is a component suitable for some models. This component fits into the mower’s discharge opening so that grass clippings cannot come out of it. During operation, the mower reduces the grass into fine particles, and the plug collects these particles within the deck. the process known as mulching is used in spreading the shredded organic matter directly on the lawn to decompose. This is used to improve the fertility of the soil and hence the growth of the grass so that there is no need for frequent application of fertilizers.
