The MTD 917-04126 Worm Shaft is an important part of the lawn mowers especially those manufactured by MTD. This useful element connects the mower to the wheels to enable an effective delivery of energy from the engine. The worm shaft has a unique geometry whereby there is an interconnection of a worm thread and a wheel thread to form a worm and spur gear hence leading to a substantial variation of velocity and increase in the twist.
