The MTD 946-0616A lawn tractor choke-control cable assembly is used with mowers with the engine's mechanism. When it is engaged it restricts the airflow to the carburetor and creates a richer fuel-air mixture required for cold starts. It makes it easier to ignite the engine especially in cooler conditions.
