Description

The Briggs & Stratton 497680 Engine Rewind Starter is a manual way to rotate the part in proper outdoor power equipment. When the starter rope is pulled, an internal pulley system is activated to start the ignition sequence by turning the crankshaft. Once the pull cycle is finished a recoil spring brings the rope back to its starting position for the next pull cycle. This mechanical starting method does not require external electrical power and the design allows for a controlled connection at startup and ensures accurate cranking under normal operating conditions.
