Description
The Craftsman 37460 Engine Camshaft operates by rotating in sync with the crankshaft through a timing chain or belt to regulate the opening and closing of intake and exhaust valves through precisely shaped lobes. As it turns out, the lobes push valve lifters or followers, converting rotational motion into linear movement that times airflow into and out of the combustion chamber during cycles. It is positioned within the cylinder head or unit block, integrated with the timing system to align valve events with piston movement, and maintains synchronized valve timing with rotation.
